DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Service Execution Team searching for a full-time candidate to assist in developing, testing, and supporting the yard transportation apps and infrastructure. The position requires working closely with BNSF employees, both business and technical. Responsibilities for the role include:
- Working with product owners to define requirements, provide detailed estimates to assist with an annual plan and determine priority.
- Breaking down requirements into clear executable stories.
- Executing and delivering on prioritized stories and ensuring that stories are completed on time and with minimal defects.
- Ensure automated tests are created for new features and enhance testing for existing features.
- Ensure that the application technology stack is current with fixes and enhancements.
- Clear, well-written communications and attention to customer service, partner relationships and overall product quality
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- The successful candidate must have strong experience in developing and delivering applications using automated testing and deployment techniques. Candidate should also possess strong abilities in researching and recommending solutions based on current industry best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree with preference in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or Business OR equivalent formal training or work experience
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in an Information Technology environment
- 3+ years in application development and integration of services
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and Java or Groovy
- Experience with JavaScript
- Experience with Security OIDC
- Good organization and prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with full stack development
- Experience in developing cloud-native applications using Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Cloud targeted to Open Shift Cloud
- Knowledge and work experience in designing and implementing event-driven microservice architectures
- Experience in event sourcing technologies such as Kafka
- Experience in no-sql databases such as Cassandra
- Experience in testing methodologies using frameworks such as Junit, Spock testing framework, etc.
- Hands on experience with continuous-integration tools (e.g. Jenkins, Artifactory)
- Experience with Agile Development & Agile Management tools (e.g. Version One)
- Experience with modern monitoring technologies (e.g. Prometheus)
- Working knowledge of telecommunications technology, data centers and hosting environments
