Corporate Audit Services (CAS) provides independent, objective assurance, risk identification and mitigation, and activities designed to add value and improve the BNSF community. Our auditors work across the company on a range of topics of significance and can expect to interact with various leaders including senior leaders in BNSF.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is an Audit In-Charge/Project Manager position responsible for development and supervision of risk assessments, gap analysis, and audits in areas of Accounting, Information Technology, and Operations at BNSF.  Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Perform risk assessments and gap analysis
  • Develop and execute audit programs
  • Assist with Enterprise Risk Management and Audit Plan activities
  • Manage project budgets and timelines
  • Interpret and evaluate audit evidence
  • Perform data analytics and evaluate processes for continuous auditing
  • Analyze observations\gaps for residual risk and assess impact to strategic objectives
  • Present audit results to stakeholders
  • Track audit findings through to remediation
  • Coach and develop staff
  • Contribute to the departments success through participation in initiatives and special projects

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years of audit experience or related business experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Project Management experience
  • Ability to lead projects to successful completion
  • Experience assessing processes
  • Ability to analyze information, draw conclusions, and root cause
  • Ability to make suggestions or recommendations for improving work processes and procedures
  • Ability to deliver difficult messages in both verbal and written form
  • Willingness to give constructive feedback to employees

 

STRONGLY PREFER:

  • Knowledge of: audit standards and methodologies, railroad operations, generally accepted accounting principles, and security
  • Experience with performing analytics, programming, or querying techniques (Data Warehouse, SAS, IDEA, TeamMate, Tableau, MS Access, or SQL)
  • CPA, CISSP, CISA, or CIA certification
