The Right Track for You?
Responsibilities

Other skilled positions provide vital behind-the-scenes support. BNSF relies on these groups to solve problems and manage day-to-day services needed to run the railroad.

Clerical Team

Our Clerical team supports corporate departments such as Finance, Labor Relations, Marketing or Technology Services, as well as operational functions at field locations, including intermodal facilities, terminals and yards. Clerks may serve in administrative capacities or work in Operations roles such as bridge operators, stockers or vehicle operators.

Intermodal Team

Other key positions are on the Intermodal team. Intermodal loads are containers or trailers that are transferred to rail from another mode of transportation, usually from a truck or ship. Our Intermodal employees work in hubs, operating cranes, directing crane movements using signals or transporting containers to and from the tracks using hostler trucks within the facility.

The Route Ahead
Work Environment

Freight trains operate around the clock, as do the people in Intermodal. Sometimes, employees may need to be on call or work nights, weekends or holidays. Employees work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
