BNSF Police Responsibilities

The BNSF Police Team is the law enforcement division of BNSF Railway’s Resource Protection department. Members of the Police team are experienced professionals with diverse skillsets and are fully sworn, POST-certified police officers, who have been granted federal interstate authority.

Special Agents/Senior Special Agents are responsible for investigating and responding to situations including theft of railroad property, trespassing incidents, vandalism and graffiti, train derailments and grade crossing collisions.

Police Communication Specialists

Police Communication Specialists are our police dispatchers and are usually the first point of contact for local law enforcement agencies and the general public. Located in Fort Worth, Texas, they work closely with our Agents, internal departments within BNSF and the communities we serve to ensure the safety of our network.
