EFLS Program

One way to join our Field Operations Leadership team is through our Experienced First Line Supervisor (EFLS) Program, which requires a minimum of three years’ experience managing five or more employees or two years or more of military experience. This program provides comprehensive training for the activities you will supervise in our Engineering, Mechanical or Transportation departments. It also includes leadership training in orientation, technical training, and on-the-job training at your assigned location. Your vision will help inspire and drive success for our Engineering, Mechanical or Transportation teams.

Leaders in these roles work in a mostly outdoor environment while supporting our 24x7 operation in varied shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends. Opportunities exist throughout the 28 states on the BNSF network. For this reason, relocation is often required and depends upon business needs.
