Diversity & Inclusion

Diversity & Inclusion

BNSF is committed to our foundational values of diversity, equity and inclusion. As members of the BNSF community, our employees are entitled to:
  • be treated with dignity and respect.
  • have equal access to tools, resources, training and development opportunities.
  • have equal opportunity to achieve their full potential.

We model the way through our senior leaders, BNSF employee-led diversity councils, Women EnRoute and our diverse business resource groups. We are deeply involved in the communities we serve and deeply invested in our diversity and inclusion programs. It's about being aware and inclusive of race, ethnicity, religion, age, gender, veteran status, disability status, country of origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, education, background - we all should feel empowered to be ourselves. Through our actions, we have created an inclusive, open, and collaborative workplace that truly encourages diverse perspectives in all interactions and makes all employees feel they belong.

We challenge the status quo. We know we are on a journey of continuous improvement. We encourage employees to raise questions and concerns, and we view the resulting dialogue as an opportunity to learn and improve. We promote the open exchange of diverse perspectives, ideas and opinions.

By intentionally creating a culture of equality and belonging, we can achieve our Vision and realize our tremendous potential—not only as a company, but as individuals. We at BNSF are committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
